Palace Theatre’s Community Block Party Returns to Downtown Albany on August 28

ALBANY — The Palace Performing Arts Center, in cooperation with MVP Health Care & the New York State Council on the Arts, is pleased to present the Palace Theatre Community Block Party. On Saturday, August 28 from Noon to 4 PM the area around the Palace Theatre will be filled with music, family-friendly activities, vendors, community organizations & more! This event is free and open to the public. Bring the entire family for an afternoon of fun including live music, dance performances, live DJs, balloon artists, games, giveaways and much more.

To help get the little ones ready to return to school, we are giving out Free Backpacks and School Supplies courtesy of our partners at MVP Health Care and CAP COM Federal Credit Union & our friends at Subway who have provided us with free Subway sandwiches for attendees! All giveaways are available while supplies last.

“After a long year that forced us all to remain apart, we are thrilled to be able to once again present our community block party and celebrate the neighborhood that we love. The Palace Theatre is proud to be a vibrant part of our local community and we cannot wait to see all those smiling faces again on August 28th for a family-friendly afternoon of fun!”

– Kevin Johnson, Interim Executive Director

“The Palace Theatre block party provides families in Albany with an opportunity to get outdoors, enjoy fun activities, and celebrate this wonderful community,” said MVP Health Care’s President and CEO, Christopher Del Vecchio. “MVP will always have a strong commitment to the communities we serve, and we are so proud to once again sponsor this exciting event that reinforces healthy fun for kids and adults of all ages.”

The Palace Theatre Community Block Party is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
