Forte Presents: “Two Dollar Town” by Sara Milonovich

Sara Milonovich is an alt-country singer/songwriter/fiddler based in New York’s Hudson Valley. Sara cut her teeth as a sought-after side person in the bluegrass, Americana, and celtic music scenes but has since turned her attention to her new band Daisycutter.

On Sunday September 5th, Sara recorded a live session with her bandmate Greg Anderson (acoustic guitar, vocals) and the Forte Creative Group production team on the top floor of Takk House in Troy, NY. Sara and Greg played three original songs and have recently released their cathartic performance of Two Dollar Town, a track off Sara & Daisycutter’s newest album Northeast which paints a powerful portrait of the blue-collar North.

Forte is an artist-owned cooperative building an equitable platform to support the regional music community. Sara is a member-artist on Forte’s cooperative roster. The roots music veteran organized this live recording session with the Forte Production team (Reese Fulmer, Mikhael Mulholland, and Christopher Scesny) and other member-artists (Cloudbelly, Angelina Valente, and Sydney Worthley). Forte will continue to coordinate these production opportunities for member-artists and plans to open these sessions to a small group of invited guests as a studio audience in community spaces around the Capital Region and Western MA.
