The Attic Classic: Alternative rock was going strong in 1987, music everywhere with an edge, a message, and if it had a beat you could dance to, all the better.

Among the local bands hitting the recording studio and rock club stages were Dance Planet, bringing to the party their own group of fans, The Planetarians. Their lineup was a bit unique, with Rich Celani on drums, Dave Decker on bass, Brian Wellbrook guitar, and Brian Saxx on, well, you can guess which instrument he played. All provided lead vocals too.

Among the whirlwind, the band recorded a four-song 7-inch EP titled ‘Sheldon Changes Overnite,’ with each of the members contributing a song. All received radio airplay, not just locally, but also on college radio stations across the country.

The Attic Classic is “Dissassder,” the first track from the record. Decide if you might have been a Planetarian too.
