Etrice Gallery is proud to present ‘Hiatus – The Work of Jalaun Taylor’. Join us on Saturday, November 20 from 7:00 to 10:00 for an exploration of hip hop as it emerges from the streets. After years of working in the shadows of our region, Jalaun will show his work in a formal gallery setting. Street style hip hop art will include painted canvas images, upcycled / modified footware, Breed Limited merchandise and recorded music for purchase. Live musical entertainment to be provided by WCDB’s 90.9 FM celeb DJ HollyW8D.

Jalaun Taylor is an Albany New York born artist. He gravitated to his artistic practice at a young age – from the time he was old enough to use a pencil. In 2013, he began to fall in love with art as a lifestyle, and not just a hobby when he picked up his first set of paint brushes. From this moment on, his life purpose transitioned into a career path as an artist. Jalaun’s style brings a street sensibility. His mediums are varied including clothing, canvas and murals and restaurant walls. Jaluan is also a hip hop recording artist rapping under the alias T.R.U.T.H.

My art practice has affected my life entirely…how I think, move, dress, the things I’m into, the people I surround myself with…art is my purpose and my life long love.

The “Hiatus” show will be his first formal gallery exhibition.

Jalaun is also the owner and founder of Breed clothing and art. Breed is a small batch collectible design house that expresses the mind of unique individuality. A focus on high quality and small quantities allows individuals to stand out among other “species”.

Jalaun’s public commercial work includes the iconic murals that were at Cory Nelson’s Troy Kitchen in Troy New York.
