Home Made Theater’s Upcoming Show, Moonlight And Magnolias Set to Run in December

Moonlight & Magnolias, Home Made Theater’s limited-run, eight-show staging of playwright Ron Hutchinson’s 2004 comedy, about how the film adaptation of Gone With the Wind was hammered out in five days by producer David O. Selznick, director Victor Fleming and script doctor Ben Hecht, will be performed at Saratoga Arts’ Dee Sarno Theater starting the first weekend of December.

Directed by Theresa Storti, Moonlight & Magnolias features a four member cast comprised of actors Joe Frederick, John Love, Michael J. Madsen and Dianne ‘O’Neill.

A comic farce based on actual historical events – five weeks into shooting the Civil War epic, Selznick realized the script and original director were awful  — Moonlight & Magnolias also deals with serious questions about race and the position of Jewish executives in the Hollywood of 1939.

Moonlight & Magnolias will be performed on Fridays, and Saturdays, December 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th at 7:30PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays, December 4th, 5th, 11th, and 12th at 2:00PM. The Dee Sarno Theatre at Saratoga Arts is located at 320 Broadway in Saratoga Springs.
