Suede to Perform at Proctors On January 22nd

SCHENECTADY – Knockout pop, blues and jazz singer-performer Suede, is slated to perform in a live, in-person concert with Fred Boyle on piano and Rich Hill on bass at 7:30 pm, Saturday, January 22. 8th Step at Proctors (GE Theatre), is presenting and hosting the event.

Suede has headlined with Melissa Etheridge and Sarah McLachlan; NYC press says she’s like Adele meets Diana Krall meets Bette Midler. In years past, she was Joan Rivers’ opening act.

Now, by popular demand, Suede returns after tours including headlining world-renowned clubs like NYC’s Birdland and 54 Below; San Francisco’s Feinstein’s; Washington DC’s Blues Alley, and The Kennedy
Center; Boston’s Scullers Jazz Club, appearing as guest vocalist with the acclaimed DIVA Jazz Orchestra on festival stages, including Newport, and more – as well as multiple benefits for great causes, and having the immense privilege and honor to open for the late, great Joan Rivers. Suede is the real deal (said Joan) and is thrilled to return to 8th Step at Proctors.

“A spectacular evening of song and style…Voices like hers come along maybe once in a generation” NEW YORK TIMES

“A great voice, even better enthusiasm, almost giddy delight at entertaining audiences, that if bottled would make every anti-depressant on the market obsolete” STEPPIN’ OUT ARTS, NY

“Thank you for the most f#!ing incredible night of my life in an audience! You are F#!ing to die for!” BEA ARTHUR, comedienne

From astounding a cappella, incredibly intimate ballads and smokin’ trumpet solos to “bring down the house” belting blues, Suede delivers it all with her own unique blend of warmth, high energy, wit and pure musical artistry.
