Aoife O’Donovan to Appear at The Egg as Part of the American Roots & Branches Series
ALBANY – Grammy award-winner Aoife O’Donovan is set to perform at The Egg in Albany on March 5th at 8 pm. O’Donovan – whose ethereal vocals have highlighted the music bluegrass group Crooked Still and projects from I’m With Her with Sarah Jarosz and Sara Watkins and Goat Rodeo Sessions with Yo Yo Ma and Chris Thile, to singing with the National Symphony Orchestra and with jazz trumpeter Dave Douglas – is back with her third solo titled Age of Apathy in 2022.

Deemed “a vocalist of unerring instinct” by The New York Times, and hailed by Rolling Stone for creating “Impressionistic, atmospheric songs [that] relay their narratives against gorgeous pastoral backdrops,” she has released two critically-acclaimed and boundary-blurring solo albums including In the Magic Hour. Aoife will perform with her band.
Guitarist Yasmin Williams will open the show. With her ambidextrous and pedidextrous, multi-instrumental techniques of her own making and influences ranging from video games to West African griots subverting the predominantly white male canon of fingerstyle guitar, Yasmin is truly a guitarist for the new century.
