2022 Festival of Young Artists Welcomes Choreographer Shayna Golub

Northeast Ballet Company, under the direction of Darlene Myers, is pleased to welcome former Myers Ballet School and Northeast Ballet Company dancer Shayna Golub as their guest choreographer for the 2022 Festival of Young Artists to be held at Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sunday, June 5th.

Ms. Golub’s many years of classical ballet training and performance experience while at Myers Ballet  School and Northeast Ballet Company laid the foundation for her exciting career in dance and aerial performance. After graduating from Muhlenberg College in 2016 with a B.A. in Dance where she studied ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz and tap, Ms. Golub went on to train with the New England Center for Circus Arts, where she honed her aerial skills.

Ms. Golub’s aerial performance credits include ABCirque Productions, Incanto Productions, and Atlas Circus  Company. She has also been a featured dancer on tour with Marquise Productions (now CCIAC based in  Troy, NY). Most notably, Ms. Golub performed with the musical group Phish at their 2018 New Year’s Eve concert at Madison Square Garden. In addition to her career as a professional artist, Ms. Golub has worked as an arts administrator for The Artist Athlete, Hideaway Circus, The Muse Brooklyn, The Cirque Us and Schoen Movement Company. She has also taught children’s dance classes for more than ten years.

Ms. Golub brings twelve years of extensive choreographic experience and her unique cross-discipline training to SPAC’s main stage on June 5th. She will choreograph the festival’s finale ensemble which will feature Northeast Ballet Company’s youth division dancers, the Capital District Youth Chorale and the Empire State Youth Orchestra. Northeast Ballet Company will premiere two additional pieces that afternoon featuring fifteen youth dancers.

The 2022 Festival of Young Artists concert at SPAC is a free event and open to the public.
