Double-B and the New Orleans Drive-by Band performing at HVCC

The Big Easy comes to Troy on April 21st at noon as Hudson Valley Community College hosts Double-B and the New Orleans Drive-By Band. The free, hour-long performance is being held in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium.

One of the region’s most sought-after musicians, Double-B (aka Bob Button) was inspired to take up the trumpet after discovering Louis Armstrong in 1965. In addition to teaching, he’s recorded with or opened for The Sharks, Blotto, Little Feat, and Tower of Power. Combining musical powers with the New Orleans Drive-by Band’s Bob Assini, Marcus Benoit, Boot Calkins, Mike Kelley, Jon Paul, and Jeff Roberts, the result is a mix of jazz, New Orleans funk, R&B, and gospel-infused soul that will have you dancing and participating in the soulful vocals.

The concert will also be live-streamed at www.hvcc.edu/culture. The performance closes out HVCC’s Cultural Affairs Program’s Spring 2022 concert series, with shows resuming in September.
