Victor Wooten to Bring His “Bass Extremes” to the Egg, August 28th

ALBANY – Coming to The Egg on Sunday, August 28th is Victor Wooten. The fantastic and virtuosic bassist will be bringing his show “Bass Extremes” to the venue as part of their American Roots & Branches concert series.

Wooten has been called the most influential bassist of the last two decades and was listed as one of the Top Ten Bassists of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine. He is the winner of Bass Player magazine’s readers’ poll three times and remains the only person to have won it more than once. He has released multiple solo recordings, and has won five Grammy awards. He has anchored the otherworldly music of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones since 1988. He plays everything from jazz to funk to R&B to bluegrass to a fusion of them all. He is Victor Wooten and he invites you to accompany him – and 6-string fretless bass virtuoso Steve Bailey and drummer Derico Watson – on a joy ride to discover previously unimagined lands for the bass guitar.

Tickets are $36 and are available at The Egg Box Office at the Empire State Plaza, by telephone at 518-473-1845 or online.
