Katie Lynn Johnson’s “If I Could Tell You” to Premiere at Madison Theatre, Nov. 19

ALBANY – On Nov. 19, the Madison Theatre in Albany will host a night of short films spearheaded by independent filmmaker Katie Lynn Johnson, with her film If I Could Tell You. Other filmmakers that will be featured that night are LaLa Halsema and Josh Stasko. Together, the films outline a themed cinematic journey through anxiety, grief, and the path through. Audiences are welcomed to come for a wonderful night of heartfelt films exploring the connection to one’s younger selves.

Starting the evening off is Potluck, by Halsema. The film tells the story of Carolyn, who masks her broken heart with positivity and one-liners, desperately trying to belong. In the second short, Stasko’s Sprained, a man dealing with anxiety and loneliness thinks he needs to hide his pain from others, until sleep-deprived reflections show him that pain is nothing to be ashamed of. Capping off the night is If I Could Tell You, by Katie Lynn Johnson. A heartfelt story on love and loss; when a young woman’s future is shadowed by grief, a letter to her younger self brings her face-to-face with her past.

The Premiere event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The event features free admission, but donations are welcomed. Donations support the cost of the event.
