SCHENECTADY – WGNA brought the one-of-a-kind show back to Proctors Theatre on Tuesday night. Just like any other year, the 17th Secret Star Acoustic Jam resulted in a sold-out venue for country music fans, even though the line-up was a tough one to guess.

Shane Profitt was amongst the powerful lineup and kicked the night off with a sound that is likely still traveling through the speakers. Profitt is considered a “Salt of the earth Southerner with a straight-shooting swagger and kind smile” who performed his original hits… and jokes. The crowd was either laughing or cheering regarding Profitt’s performance.

Profitt might have brought the heat, but Joe Nichols ensured the venue felt “Sunny and 75.” The American country music artist began playing in high school gymnasiums and small clubs; now, he owns over 14 singles that have reached the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. “Brokenheartsville,” “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off,” “Gimmie That Girl,” and “Sunny and 75” – are just a few songs that had the crowd wanting to tan and drink more tequila.

The night was just getting started when Randy Houser was introduced to the curious country fans. Houser opened his performance with “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” just one of his hits that contributed to his five million singles sales. The CMA Song of the Year nominee performed countless No. 1 hits, leaving Houser with a standing ovation.
Houser opens for Cody Johnson later this week in Syracuse, so if you happened to miss his Secret Star performance – it’s not too late.
[…] WGNA’s 2023 secret star performer Randy Houser brought the house down (yet again) for the second time in New York this week. Houser, a CMA Song of the Year nominee, performed countless number-one hits for fans who couldn’t help but raise their drinks and move their feet. The award-winning country singer never fails to give 110% to his current fans and soon-to-be fans. Houser is one of those artists you can see in a sold-out theater or arena and be speechless every time he performs. […]
