Quintocracy to Perform at Troy Music Hall for Music at Noon Series, June 13th

TROY – Performing at Troy Music Hall on June 13th is Quintocracy. Taking place as part of the venue’s free Music at Noon Series, Quintocracy, excited to play another concert by women composers, will give concertgoers a breath of fresh air!

Quintocracy, a wind quintet based in the Capital Region of Upstate New York, firmly believes in the idea that music is for all. Classical music shouldn’t be limited to traditional settings and the music we listen to and perform should be as diverse as the culture we live in. Their interactive concerts draw in listeners who otherwise would not know they were interested through their sassy and engaging discussions and superb artistry. Watch Quintocracy break the classical ensemble mold and join their community today!

The program will be:

  • Beata Moon’s ‘Wind Quintet’
  • Judith Zaimont’s ‘From the Folk’
  • Chen Yi’s ‘Woodwind Quintet No. 3 Suite from China West’
  •  Amy Beach: The Brownies – from Summer Dreams (Op. 47 #1), arr John Gibson
  • Valerie Coleman: Tzigane
  • Hedwige Chrétien: Wind Quintet

The family-friendly concert will begin at 12:00 pm. This free event is made possible thanks to a grant from the New York Women Composers’ Seed Money Grant.
