Carolyn Shapiro to Perform at The Cock ‘n Bull, June 16th
GALWAY – Coming to perform at The Cock ‘n Bull on June 16th is Carolyn Shapiro. Well known in the area for her style of banjo playing, along with her well-crafted folk songs, Shapiro delights audiences time and again. Audiences are warmly welcomed to come out for a night of home-cooked banjo soul.
Carolyn Shapiro is an award-winning old-time banjo player and songwriter from the Adirondacks whose sound is rooted in the old-songs of Appalachia. Trained in the clawhammer style of banjo by Trish Miller and John Kirk, Carolyn blends tradition with her own unique sultry flavor to create honest music that feeds the soul like a good home-cooked meal. She sings songs inspired by the world around her with a commanding voice that will stop you in your tracks.
Carolyn released her debut album Where I’m Supposed To Be, on October 1st, 2021. Produced in collaboration with Jim Mastrianni featuring a number of talented 518 musicians, this compilation of songs come straight from the heart and showcase Carolyn’s songwriting and banjo prowess. Shapiro is the winner of the 2022 “Folk Artist of the Year” at the Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Awards.
