Broadway Under the Stars: A Night with Brigadoon in Congress Park
Picture this: The sun begins to set over Congress Park on September 10th. You’re surrounded by fellow music enthusiasts, all eagerly awaiting the magic of Broadway right in our backyard. Enter Brigadoon, a timeless Lerner and Loewe classic.
Our beloved Home Made Theater, shaking hands with Saratoga Arts, is about to drop a concert that’s so much more than your average Sunday outing. This isn’t just any show; we’re talking about a 19-strong ensemble cast and a tight-knit eight-piece orchestra ready to dazzle. But here’s the twist: instead of the grand sets and costumes we might be used to, they’re stripping it back, folks. Minimalist sets, fewer techy aspects, all to let that sweet, sweet music shine.

Some familiar faces will be gracing the stage once again. If you’ve been around the Home Made Theater scene, you might recognize talents like Lily Cordé, Christine Geraci, and a handful of others. But there’s also some fresh blood stepping onto the stage – shout out to Ben Amey, Megan Anderson, and the whole crew making their debuts!
And who’s guiding our musical journey for the night? None other than JJ Buechner as the director, with Richard Cherry jazzing things up as the musical director.
Set those reminders to grab your spot by 5:00 p.m. And guess what? This epic musical experience? Totally on the house. Yep, you read that right—free—and a big shoutout to the Saratoga Springs Participatory Budgeting Program for making it happen. If you’re feeling the love, they’ll be passing around a hat, so throw in a few bucks if you can.
And, hey, let’s not forget to tip our hats to Saratoga Shakespeare for lending the Alfred Z. Solomon Stage, and big props to the City of Saratoga Springs for the support.
So, grab your picnic blankets, gather your friends, and make it a night to remember with Brigadoon.
