Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade jumping off at the Palace
ALBANY – After a twenty-plus-year break, the world-renowned musician Les Claypool has regrouped his Fearless Flying Frog Bridgade for The Hunt for Green October Tour. The tour hops through Albany on Friday, October 20th at The Palace Theater.
The Fearless Flying Frog Brigade originally came together while Claypool took a break from Primus, the band we all know him best for. The brigade quickly gained popularity and praise from the public and was soon considered to be one of Claypool’s most innovative bands. They frequently rotate musicians, however this tour is made up of longtime members such as Skerik (saxophone) and Mike Dillon (percussion, vibraphone), along with Sean Lennon (guitar), Harry Waters (keyboards) and Paulo Baldi (drums).
The Fearless Flying Frog Brigade released two live recorded albums in 2001, Live Frogs Set 1 and Live Frogs Set 2. Set 1 consists of both covers and originals while Set 2 is solely a cover album of Pink Floyd’s Animals. Later on in 2002, a studio album titled Purple Onion was released. All three albums led to great success for the band, and still remain relevant despite being decades old now.
To join in on a fun-filled night and witness the triumphant return of Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, be sure to get your tickets soon – they likely won’t last long as the band has not gone on a major tour like this since 2003.
