Byrdhouse Celebrates Five Years at No Fun, October 25th
TROY – Byrdhouse Records celebrates its five-year anniversary with a special Halloween party and concert at No Fun in Troy. Performing that night are Mint Green, Lemon of Choice, Safety Meeting, and The Grand Mals.
Mint Green, hailing from Boston, is an emo-pop band led by the talented singer and guitarist, Ronnica. The rhythm section is held together by the skilled Daniel Huang on drums along with epic bass playing by Tiffany Sammy. This year, Mint Green graced the stage at the renowned Boston Calling Festival and certainly gained a few new fans. Mint Green’s sound can be compared to groups and artists such as Boygenius, Soccer Mommy, and Illuminati Hotties. If you’re fond of any of the musicians listed, be sure to check out Mint Green’s 2022 release, All Girls Go To Heaven.
Albany-based Lemon of Choice will also be taking the stage at the anniversary party. Lemon of Choice fits in the punk rock genre but is quite diverse sonically. The band’s songs range from incorporating wacky synths and messing around with pitch changes to having meticulously crafted, sometimes-comical lyricism intertwined. We see this particularly in the band’s most recent album, Jay Leno Crash.

Also joining in on the fun are local indie-rock groups Safety Meeting from Saratoga and The Grand Mals from Albany. Both Safety Meeting and The Grand Mals are known for delivering highly dynamic live performances that always get the audiences moving and involved. Be sure to make it to Byrdhouse Records’ five-year anniversary party next Wednesday to help celebrate, and support DIY!
