Spooky Sounds and Haunting Harmonies happening this Halloweekend, in the Capital Region
As the air grows crisp and peak season starts to hit it can only mean one thing: Halloween is just around the corner. The Capital Region is coming alive with eerie vibes, and there is no better way to embrace the spirit of spooky szn than by indulging in the hauntingly delightful world of Halloween music shows. Numerous venues around the Capital Region are ready to host shows ranging sonically from spine-tingling symphonies to graveyard jams. This year’s lineup promises a thrilling variety of musical performances that will have you dancing in your costume all night long. Join in and make this Halloween season an unforgettable musical experience… if you dare.
ALBANY – Albany takes Halloween fun seriously as four different Albany-based venues are offering numerous musical shows this Halloweekend. Starting strong, Empire Underground has three back-to-back shows set up to ensure a sonically spooky weekend. On Friday, 10/27, get ready for a night of electrifying rock ‘n’ roll as Empire Live hosts the highly anticipated “Graveyard Get Down II: Rock ‘n’ Roll Halloween Party.” This extravaganza features an immense lineup that will have rock enthusiasts screaming with delight: Seize Atlantis, Sad Dads, Terrallite, Nikki Brown & The Well Diggers, The Mopar Cams, Strange Neighbors, and Everybody That Loves You, covering songs from modern rock’s biggest acts.

On Sunday, 10/29, the venue hosts Albany’s own The Phoenix & The Raven, a band that meshes a variety of musical genres, resulting in a spooky sound that’s perfect to get listeners in the Halloween spirit. Lastly, the Underground closes out their Halloweekend of shows with a party featuring My Prophecy on Halloween night. The headliners will take you on an enchanting musical journey through the depths of darkness, alongside special guests Anacortez and Death Cult Pharmaceutical.
Other Albany venues, such as Fuze Box, Pauly’s Hotel, and The Kenmore Ballroom, also offer the chance to partake in the musical Halloweekend festivities. On October 28th, The Fuze Box is hosting a Tony Hawk Pro Skater Halloween Jam with Seasons Skate Shop & DJ Hope, where attendees can dress up and partake in a costume contest, grab their skateboards, and listen to some scary good music. On Halloween night, The Fuze Box presents The Erotics’ Halloween Party featuring Brother Time & the Boys, Same Ole Rat, and Pink Acoustic. Both these events will for sure have everyone hyped for spooky season.

Pauly’s Hotel is also hosting a Halloween show on Sunday, October 29th, featuring beloved local bands such as Under The Den, ShortWave RadioBand, and E.R.I.E., alongside touring bands Friend Hospital and Sinking Season. All who attend are invited to dress up, join the bands in costume, and do the monster mash! If you’re looking for a more relaxed night filled with spooky tunes, The Kenmore Ballroom hosts a Halloween Candlelight Concert on Friday, October 27th. Get ready to take in all the fall feels as classic Halloween music will play under the gentle glow of candlelight.

TROY – No Fun presents a Planetarium Halloween Party with special guest DJ Scotia on Friday, October 27th and a Hellseeker Goth Night Halloween Party to follow on Saturday the 28th. Both these events invite guests to get into the Halloween spirit and come rock out, dance, and have a great time.
SARATOGA SPRINGS – If you’d rather indulge in a night of fright in Saratoga Springs, Universal Preservation Hall is the place to go. On Saturday, the 28th, UPH will host a Midnight Mass Masquerave, full of electronic musical ecstasy. This EDM show will have guests dancing all night long, with music spun by two sensational Australian DJs and Anjuna Beats stars, JayTech and Naz.

HUDSON FALLS – For a more formal frightening night, the James Bond Halloween Ball and Music Concert at The Strand Theatre on Saturday will dazzle with 18 exceptional performers trying their hand at timeless classics from early James Bond films. But the night doesn’t end with the music. Step into the world of James Bond as you show off your finest 007 outfits and take part in the costume contest!
