Sabrina Trueheart to perform at Dorn Space in 2024

On Feb. 3, Sabrina Trueheart will be performing at Gloversville’s Dorn Space, 99 N. Main St., at 7 p.m.

By combining folk and pop elements in her music, Truehart is standing out amongst other artists. She utilizes a distinctive playing style on guitar to serve as a solid backdrop for her unique vocal sound. Incorporating highs and lows in her guitar patterns, her voice at times sits above the mix, and at other times is folded in evenly, but is never lost in its pitch, or its clarity.

Trueheart released her solo EP, Holding Onto Something Good, a short but sweet collection of all-acoustic, folk-pop songs and her second EP, Feminine Mystique,  an Americana-tinged pop extended play, will be released in 2024.

Trueheart’s distinct sound comes from influences from Joni Mitchell, Lana Del Rey, Jewel, early Taylor Swift and Anthony Green.

“When I was growing up, I was really into an artist named Anthony Green, who isn’t my normal style of music; he does a lot of indie-rock stuff,” she said in an interview with Nippertown. “I’ve had the same influences with my music since I was 15 years old. I grew up on country music, actually. Old Taylor Swift songs were when I really started getting interested in writing music and playing guitar.”
Tickets for the performance can be reserved by emailing [email protected]. Admission for the show is $10, cash only.
