Albany Run/Walk/Rally For Black Lives

In response to the recent tragic murders of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Breonna Taylor in Kentucky, Nina Pop in Missouri, Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia members of the Albany community, Citizen Action of New York, and other community groups will speak out and then run/walk in solidarity with protests being held in Minneapolis, Georgia and numerous other cities around the nation.

We will be meeting at Townsend Park in Albany at 1 p.m. for a 2.23-mile Dedication Distance Run/Walk in support of justice for all Capital District communities. The map we will be using for the walk/run is available here:

We will be connecting national stories of racial injustice and tragedy to those stories right here in the Capital District: Elllazar Williams, Armand Salazar, Edson Thevenin, Dahmeek McDonald, Denzel Morris and others.

This event in Albany is a part of a series of run/walk events happening in the Capital District, including Schenectady and Troy. Albany’s event is led by Citizen Action in coalition with All of Us and Justice4Dahmeek.
