Lark Hall’s latest “Window Sessions” will feature Victory Soul Orchestra and Jordan Taylor Hill & Friends in a fundraiser performance centered around uplifting black voices and bringing awareness to social justice causes. Taking place on the historic date that commemorates the emancipation of slavery, the artists are playing in efforts to heighten awareness of social injustice and to recognize the groups in our community that highlight the voices and needs of black people.

Victory Soul Orchestra is a hometown horn funk favorite. The dirty sounds of New Orleans brass drive their sound with some influences including Galactic as well as the Dap Kings. You can also find them fronted by Albany’s own JB aka Dirty Moses. Their efforts combined help create a funk/rap show that brings the house down. In January 2019 they released their first album of vinyl titled Astrobeat.

Jordan Taylor Hill & Friends bring an eclectic mix of traditional rhythms from the African diaspora with lyrics and chants inspired by hip-hop & folk music. Enjoy the experience of live percussion and drums with electronic production and vocals! Featuring Jordan Taylor Hill, Josh Gruft, Abdul Samassa

The Juneteenth performance will be streamed on Lark Hall’s Facebook live this Friday, June 19. Donations will be collected for Capital Region organizations who aid communities of color.

Funds collected will be donated to local organizations such as Voix Noire, Urban Grief, African American Cultural Center, All of Us, and Citizen Action of New York to continue the upward mobility of communities of color in the Capital Region.
