MUSICIANS OF MA’ALWYCK: Virtual Concert Presenting Scottish Classics
Join us Live on YouTube for a virtual concert with Musicians of Ma’alwyck presenting Scottish classics Monday February 8th at 8 pm.
Musicians of Ma’alwyck, with guest artists mezzo-soprano Tess McCarthy and baritone Charles F. Schwartz, perform a program of music celebrating the great tradition of memorable tunes of old Scotland. Featuring Scot’s Wha Hae, Highland Port, Roslin Castle, Tam Glen, and the iconic My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose; the concert includes both vocal and instrumental music and offers a variety of both lively and lyrical, familiar and forgotten pieces. There is even a setting of Scottish tunes by Beethoven in it! If you love the poetry of Robert Burns, you don’t want to miss this performance.
We at The Linda realize that the impacts of COVID-19 have been dire for working musicians and the music industry as a whole. The goal of this series is to help restart the local music economy by bringing a wide array of eclectic and diverse, local and regional musicians back to the stage in a safe environment and to provide fans with a professionally produced concert delivered directly to their homes via YouTube stream. Similar to some of our in-person concerts, the virtual concerts are ticketed events and just like all concerts at The Linda, the productions will be of the highest quality visibly and audibly.
