Thalia Zedek Hazel Atlas Center Ffrthesun vs Parashi

Thalia Zedek has one of the most enduring and distinctive voices in modern rock music — a voice like no other — that can be heard in her work with some of the most groundbreaking underground bands, from Uzi and Live Skull to Come. Since 2001, Zedek has been making music under her own name, releasing a string of critically acclaimed albums.

Kevin Thomson performs his solo labors under the name Hazel Atlas, which mixes song form with hazy improvisation. He’s also a current member of Enablers and a former member of late 80s/early 90s noisy rockers Nice Strong Arm.

Center comes from the fertile family tree that has sprung forth from New Haven’s Headroom and Mountain Movers. Guitarists Stefan Christensen and David Shapiro play in Headroom, when they’re not creating excellent solo material of their own. Center has grown out of collaborations between Nagual (originally a duo of David Shapiro and Ian McColm) and Stefan Christensen, and has now settled in as a trio with a new name and a new tape on Soundholes Records. Be prepared to be scorched with their brand of guitar noise.

Burnt Hills members Fossils from the Sun and Parashi will play as a duo. Expect noise, tape murk, and some guitar abuse. It’s all going down on January 18th, 2020, attendance is highly encouraged. Ten bones will get you in, the rest is up to you.
